Curcumin, the yellow pigment in the spice turmeric, is a potent anti-inflammatory agent and a powerful anti-oxidant. The herb has been used in traditional folk medicine for hundreds of years and is by many scientists described as the natural COX-2 Inhibitor. Curcumin is members of the class of plant-derived compounds known as flavonoids, and share many of the properties common to this class.
